The homeowners wanted to turn their new construction backyard into a complete outdoor living space where they could comfortably entertain guests, enjoy family dinners, and relax around a future fire pit.
Starting with a blank backyard, we designed two distinct outdoor living areas that work together while serving different purposes. A spacious elevated composite deck extends directly from the home, creating an ideal space for outdoor dining and everyday living. Below, we built a separate paver patio that offers a more intimate setting for gathering with friends and family.
To create a level, functional patio on the sloping lot, we constructed a curved retaining wall that defines the lower entertaining space while providing additional seating around the future fire pit. Wide steps connect the deck, patio, and yard, making it easy to move between each level while creating a natural flow throughout the backyard.
