A well-planned firepit area starts with choosing the right location. We consider distance from the home and other structures, prevailing winds, surrounding grades, drainage and how people will safely move between the firepit, patio and house. We’ll also help you determine whether a gas or wood-burning feature makes the most sense for your property.
The size and arrangement of the seating area are just as important as the firepit itself. Whether you want an intimate space for quiet evenings or enough room for larger gatherings, we’ll plan the surface, seating distances and surrounding features so everyone can relax comfortably without feeling crowded.

Many new homes throughout Powell, Delaware, Galena, Sunbury and Lewis Center include plenty of lawn but no defined destination for gathering outside after dinner or on cooler evenings.
Planning the firepit early allows us to position it at a comfortable distance from the house, connect it naturally to the main patio and reserve enough room for seating and circulation. If you prefer gas, the fuel line can also be installed before the surrounding hardscaping is completed.
Rather than placing a firepit wherever space remains, you’ll have a dedicated gathering area that fits naturally into the complete backyard layout.

A firepit works best when the surrounding area is designed for more than simply holding a few chairs. The surface should provide stable footing, the seating should feel comfortable and the route back to the house should remain easy to navigate after dark.
Your project may include a dedicated paver circle, built-in seat walls, low-voltage lighting, privacy plantings or a connection to the main patio and outdoor kitchen. These elements give the firepit area definition and make it feel like an intentional part of the backyard.
