After Their Existing Deck Began To Rot And Fall Apart...
After their existing deck began to rot and fall apart, this family called us to see what we could come up with make their space usable again.
We decided to go with a patio over another deck because a deck would sit too low to the ground and cause the framing to rot once again. Our design criteria was a firepit area with plenty of seating around it. A space for the grill to be kept so it didn’t look like it was just sitting on the patio, and tying in the color with the 4 seasons room that was being renovated at the same time.
After the design and materials were settled on, we went into contract and the wait started for us to begin the project. By the time we arrived to start construction, all of the step tread and wall copings we had selected were discontinued by the manufacturer. We had to make a quick change of materials and colors while our crew was on site excavating.
It didn’t take long to find a new color that the customer liked even more and we were under way with construction. The customer decided to add low voltage outdoor lighting into the seat wall later in the project which really gave the entire a dynamic new look at night.
