They Wanted The Coolest Patio On The Golf Course
We were called out by this customer to install a patio in his back yard overlooking the 10th hole on the golf course.
He warned me that that it was going to be difficult but he wanted the coolest patio on the golf course. We were confident we could find a way to deliver. We arrived to find that the back yard had over 3 feet of fall from the deck to the end of were the patio would be. While this seemed like the perfect space for a deck, the customer already had a small deck and was adamant that he wanted a patio.
After discussing the options, we had a pretty good idea of how the design would look, it was up to us to figure out how to make it happen. We decided to install a retaining wall that wrapped 3 sides of the patio. We would fill this with base rock and that would give us our structural foundation to build the patio on.
We then chose to install a seat wall that wrapped around the top of the retaining wall to prevent the grandkids from falling off. To help with aesthetics, we added 2 tiered plantings in front of the wall to soften things up.
Adding lighting around the wall, in the flower beds, and spot lights on the front of the wall made this patio the talk of the country club.
